I just recently bought this book. Skimming through it I felt it was thorough enough. I'm gearing up to work through the book. Did you find that it lacks in any particular area?
ReplyDeleteHi Carlos,
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to say, I always try to read multiple books to get different developers viewpoints on each topic.
There's really no one book that covers everything brilliantly, especially a technology as new as Android. I found quite a few of the early books were a bit ordinary and probably more interested in getting in first and getting sales, rather than being a great book. And then of course Android itself has changed quite a bit too.
Best wishes for your journey, we're all on it together :)

I started with this book, and I don't recommend it for beginners. It is very thorough and is designed for intermediate to advanced android developers. I thought I could dive in to it, having a Java background, but I had to read Android Application Development for dummies first. Now that I have that under my belt, this book has been very helpful. Otherwise, it's a bit intimidating to start with.
